I have bought different types of electric shavers over the years but, NOTHING is as good as Braun.

I've had this razor for over a year now (it was a present - I didn't buy it from Amazon) and I have to say I don't rate it at all. I had two very early model Remingtons, then a Philips three-head type before giving up on trying to achieve a decent shave and going back to wet-shaving for 25 years. Having incautiously expressed a desire to try out a more modern foil-type razor, I was given this as a birthday present and, frankly, I'd rather have had the traditional pullover or pairs of socks. I don't believe I have a particularly tough beard and I've no reason to suppose my technique is at fault but it seems to me that electric shavers just haven't advanced at all. I use it because it's quicker and more convenient than wet-shaving but if I want a really good "special night out" type of shave, this device just doesn't cut it (pun intended).

I have always used Braun shavers as they give me the closest shave. This model gives me the best shave ever and I am very pleased with it. I only get 3 shaves from each charging of the battery, but as it also works off the mains that does not create a problem. Re-charging time is much less than 1 hour. I am a bit concerned that the makers recommend changing the cutters and foils every year as currently they cost £23.00 which is about half of what I paid for it!

My Remington shaver battery wore out so I decided to get this shaver based on reviews and I'm now looking for another Remington and will never buy Braun again. I'd seen a couple of reviews noting the differences but chose to go by the majority of the opinions online, though a lot of people reviewing had used Braun for a while. The shaver is quieter but vibrates more and sends the vibrations into your face and the motor is very weak. I have to go over my stubble about 3 times to shift it. Although it lasts a while on batteries and charges quickly, it seems that the weak motor plays a part in this and as I have to shave for longer, the gain isn't significant. After shaving with my Remington, it would feel like a wet shave. This shaver leaves it at the 5 'o clock shadow level and there is still noticeable roughness. The protective case is bulky and the trimmer is awkward. Remington trimmers usually face out the side not the top and their protective covers go over the foil, not the whole shaver making it more compact for travelling.

4875 great shaver smooth shave. I used to own the classic "3 blade rotary shaver and had various models". This braun nails them flat end of. Very very powerful shave and close very close. Nearly as close as a wet shave, wish i had made the change years ago. I used to get the odd in grown hair, but not with this shaver. Also worth mentioning is i dont get any razor burn and i do have sensitive skin. The question remains how long will the foil last braun say 18months time will tell...but so far very good. Shaver is lounder than some perhaps a small negative. The bruan give you a strong solid powerful close shave, this statement probably sums it all up.
